Abstract

Abstract This study aimed at identifying the documentary film and the modern techniques used in its production, as it is an important type of mass communication and of great public influrnce. The study also aimed at identifying the techniques employed in the series of "The Land of the Black", (Ard Alsumur) documentary film. The study adopted the descriptive method to give an accurate presentation for documentary films and their modern techniques. The researcher analyzed the subject matter included in some of the Land of the Black documentary film series, with special focus on the modern techniques employment. The study has come to the conclusion that the documentary film is designed to present various knowledge and thoughts, to influence the targeted group. It was found that "The Land of the Black" series has applied modern techniques, like including %33.4 of far away photos in the scenes of the films. Such photos use the drone plane, beside various photoģraphic angles and the camera movement need crane stedicam, track and pedestal. The study recommends the application of modern techniques in producing documentary Sudanese films. It is necessary to cope with the quick unlimited techniques in the field. Insertiion of texts and treating colloquial utterances for worldwide intellegibility
