Abstract:
Abstract
This research addresses the disagreement between the two
narrations of Hafs from Asim and al-Duri from Abu Amr al-Basri,
examining one hundred and twenty-one instances in which the two
reciters differed in grammar and morphology. It addresses the reasons
for the disagreement in each instance, citing scholarly statements that
clarify their interpretations, along with providing documentation for
these disputed letters. The research also addresses the two imams
who recited the Qur'an—Hafs and al-Duri—and their narrations, their
principles, and their two sheikhs—Asim and Abu Amr—and highlights
their status among scholars. It also presents what the scholars of
hadith have said about Imam Hafs's weakness in their view, and
explains what is meant by this.
There is no doubt that this topic is of great importance, as it
addresses two narrations that have been widely recited by Muslims for
centuries. There is a pressing need to understand their meanings and
their interpretation. Furthermore, the description of Imam Hafs in the
books of the scholars of hadith, describing him as weak, may raise
suspicion among those with little knowledge of his narrations.
Therefore, it is necessary to clarify the scholars' views on his
narrations and testify to his leadership in the Quran, so that no one
can ignorantly challenge them.
The researcher followed the descriptive inductive approach,
which is based on tracing the relevant information and describing it as
it is, then arriving at general rulings.
The research reached several established conclusions, including
that the criticisms and weaknesses of Imam Hafs relate specifically to
his narration of hadiths. He was distracted from memorizing the hadiths
by focusing on his own narrations, which he acquired from his teacher,
Asim. The students crowded around him, causing him to neglect
memorizing hadiths.و
Furthermore, any disagreement between the two narrations has a
valid grammatical or morphological explanation.
The research yielded recommendations that I consider important
and hope will be considered and implemented. The most important of
these recommendations is that researchers strive to bring the science
of guidance closer to the general public by selecting the simplest and
most relevant sources from the scholars' discourse, so that the general
public can benefit from them and find peace in the knowledge of the
vast and diverse range of knowledge that lies beyond.
I ask God to make what has been written beneficial and
rewarding for its author and reader. Praise be to God, Lord of the
Worlds.
