Abstract This study aimed to classify patients with kidney diseases from nonpatients , using modern statistical models and machine learning algorithms , based on laboratory data obtained from Al-Shahid Nouri Center for Kidney Treatment and Dialysis at Atbara Hospital in Sudan . The research problem was to determine the most accurate method among classical and contemporary models . The study aimed to compare the performance of three main models in binary classification : the Logistic Regression model as a traditional statistical method , the Random Forest algorithm , and the Support Vector Machine algorithm as artificial intelligence and machine learning-based approaches . The study adopted a descriptive-analytical methodology , Where a random sample of 260 cases ( 130 patients and 130 non-patients ) was collected , and six independent variables ( Hemoglobin , Creatinine , Sodium , Potassium , Phosphorus , Cholesterol ) were analyzed using the Python programming language . The analysis results showed that all models performed well : the Random Forest algorithm achieved the highest classification accuracy at 98.72% , followed by the Support Vector Machine with an accuracy of 96.15% , and then the Logistic Regression model with an accuracy of 93.59% . The results also revealed the influential variables in diagnosis ; Creatinine , Hemoglobin , and phosphorus were among the most significant statistical indicators of the disease . The study recommended that machine learning algorithms , especially Random Forest , outperform traditional statistical model in classification accuracy and are effective , robust tools that can be adopted to support medical diagnostic systems for kidney diseases . en_US
