Abstract
This study aimed to detect if teachers of basic school know about the educational means and aids. It attempted to enlighten the teachers with the basic information of designing, producing and using of the educational means.
The study followed the descriptive analytical method for a sample of 120 teachers taken from a whole population of 360 teachers of basic school.
The researcher used the questionnaire and the commonly used form of educational means usage.
The data was statistically analyzed by T –Test and Person Correlative Factor to verify the hypotheses.
Of the important results of the study;
1. Teachers have little idea about the basics of designing and producing educational means and aids.
2. The conventional educational means, the board and the book, are heavily used.
3. Training tournaments of designing, producing and using educational means and aids are very rare.
The study concluded with the following recommendations:
1. A during-service tournaments are necessary to raise teachers' efficiency.
2. Faculties of education should rise up to their role of qualifying teachers who are capable of handling educational aids.
3. Manual crafts and fine arts periods should be introduced on basic school timetables to discover talented pupils who can help in providing educational means
