Abstract
This study aims to identify the role played by Art Education, which is represented in its repercussions on the performance of gifted students in other academic subjects which they study in secondary schools. The study also seeks to identify the academic achievement on the basis of the students’ gender. It has taken gifted students in the three secondery schools for gifted students in the State of Khartoum (239 students), as a population study, as well as 112 Second Year students from the three schools, who constitute 47%, as a study sample. The study uses the discriptve methodology, and test to collect data.
The most important results are:
There are differences with a statistical indicator at the indicator level of
0.05 in learning achievement between gifted students with high artistic abilities and those with less artistic abilities,
There are differences with a gender-based statistical indicator at the indicator level of 0.05 in learning achievement between gifted students, in which girls achieved high of 89.7%.
Most important recommendations:
o Taking care of art education in gifted students” schools, so as to develop their potentials according to the modern technological development.
o Encouraging studies and research in the area of caring for gifted learners.
o Selection and preparation of teachers of gifted learners should be conducted in a way appropriate to the distinctive potentials and abilities of the gifted learners. |
